Biology Laboratory Assistant

June 2018 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

As a Biology student with a long term goal of being a research scientist, this job has given me the first hand opportunity to work in a lab. Although my position is technically an "assistant", my supervisor had me work on some independent research projects where I designed my own experiments.

What I wish was different

I wish I worked here earlier. Other than that, I wouldn't have changed anything.

Advice

This job opportunity was advertised by one of my professors. I was also recommended for the position by another professor. I advice taking the effort of communicating and engaging with your professors outside of class because they are one of your main resources.
