The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) holds the land lease for and provides for the ongoing operation of the internationally renowned Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford. The Authority’s Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services Department are housed at the Sports Complex . The Sports Complex also includes the NJSEA’s Engineering, Site Operations and IT Departments. It his home to MetLife Stadium, the Meadowlands Racetrack, the Meadowlands Arena and the American Dream mall.
The NJSEA Engineering Department oversees NJSEA operations at the Sports Complex and handles all facilities and site engineering. It is also responsible for regulatory compliance and environmental obligations and issues at the Complex
The Engineering Department offers interns an opportunity to work with professionals in a vibrant, widespread setting that hosts millions of people to sporting events and concerts at MetLife Stadium and horse racing at the Meadowlands Racetrack. The complex also includes the Meadowlands Arena, a film production and concert rehearsal space, and the American Dream mall, an entertainment and shopping destination. Interns will contribute to the dynamic everyday workings of projects that support this exciting location.
The NJSEA is also the regional planning and zoning authority for the Meadowlands District, which consists of parts of 14 towns in Bergen and Hudson counties. In addition, the Authority includes a scientific and restoration institute that works to preserve, conserve and improve the environment. The NJSEA's educational component introduces children in Grades K-12 to the Meadowlands natural resources and their critical importance. These operations take place at the NJSEA's DeKorte Park location in Lyndhurst.
