aPriori Technologies develops and markets product cost management software that allows engineers to design their products for cost. aPriori software works by importing a product’s CAD model and identifies the key features that are driving cost. It then simulates the manufacturing of the product by creating several manufacturing routings in a Virtual Manufacturing Environment (VPE) and chooses the routing that results in the least amount of cost to produce the product.
Engineers can use this information to identify high cost features of the CAD model and redesign the product to reduce cost.
