What I liked

I loved helping people maintain their vehicles and advising them on needed repairs because it's important to me that everyone have safe and reliable transportation and a mechanic they can trust. I also loved all the people at Zimbrick. My coworkers always wanted me to succeed and were more than willing to answer questions and provide help when needed.

What I wish was different

I wish the company gave hourly employees more opportunities to work overtime hours because they have a very strict overtime policy. I also wish management was more willing to work with and hear from lower-level employees on things like wages, benefits, and organizational changes.


In order to succeed at this position, you need to have strong interpersonal communication skills. Be prepared to be on your feet often, and a base level knowledge of cars and maintenance is helpful but not required. Don't be afraid to ask other advisors or the technicians for clarification if you don't understand something. It's easy to learn on the job.
