What I liked

Amazing experience! A great internship if you're just starting off in the Hospitality industry. You are presented with an equal balance of front desk, recreation(if you want to), and inspecting(not cleaning) units. All of the properties they mange are located on the island, which is just a strip, and you're able to stay at one of the condos(directly on the beach) for a small price every month. There's also opportunity to expand and intern with other departments like marketing and sale.

What I wish was different

Advice

Wyndham is 1 company with different locations. You can do anywhere in the Northwest Florida region where there are openings. I recommend doing Tops'l, 30A, or Okaloosa Island! It all depends on what experience you want from the internship.

What I liked

I like how we were assigned mentors to help us grow professionally if you knew what you wanted to explore. I liked how we all had different experiences within the same industry. I liked how they housed us in good areas of town with cheap rent. I like being out of my element personally getting to drive across the country and seeing the beach. I love being able to use the amenities at our property.

What I wish was different

I wish I didn't have to pay transportation to get there. I didn't appericate getting paid less than Whataburger for the area. I wish we had more time spend with all the interns as a whole and more exploration through the company. Those are knit picking things, overall I would go back over and over again.

Advice

I would advise to learn the area beforehand. Plan out trips for excursions like parasailing etc. Take the experience for what it is not what you expected it to be. Live it up! Go out and explore! You won't be treated like a number if you try to communicate with your superiors.
