The people that I was working with were all super friendly and helpful. They also worked to include me in all the office activities even though I was only there for a short amount of time. I also learned a lot about non-profits and fundraising. I also felt like I had a tangible impact because I was identifying grants we could apply to and helping to write drafts of grants and compiling research to be used in future grant writing.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship had been more within the career area that I am looking to go into after college, but the experience itself was really great, and I would not change anything about it.
Advice
I found it super helpful to set my phone aside while I was at the internship. I was only there for a few hours each week and not being on my phone helped me be more focused and productive, and I think it left a really positive impression on my boss and the people I was working with.
