What I liked

Variety of work and variety of experience that comes with it (using multiple field instruments, using computer programs for logging soils, etc.) Lots of travel around the state Not being stuck at a desk Lots of time outdoors Working with your hands (building and installing vapor points, taking water samples, etc)

What I wish was different

Higher pay

Advice

I thought I was going to have to go back to waiting tables shortly before I got this job because my applications to other places weren’t panning out, but then heard about the position from another community member and had an interview scheduled shortly after. Just keep looking and you can (probably) find a job you’re interested in, stay hopeful when you’re hunting for a job.
