Women’s Campaign International is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Operating at local, national, and global levels since 1998, WCI works to cultivate a leadership pipeline for women and girls by giving them the skills and tools to create sustainable, positive change.
WCI’s programmatic approach focuses around four core pillars: Political Leadership, Economic Empowerment, Conflict Mitigation, and Social Mobilization. Women’s Campaign International’s mission is to empower women and girls around the world to actively participate and fill leadership roles in the economy, community development, civil society, and peace-building efforts. We envision a world in which women and men have equal ‘seats at the table’ in all spheres of life, whether that be economic, political or social. WCI works to achieve our mission by providing direct training to disadvantaged women; these women are almost exclusively low income, members of marginalized populations, and/or living in a post-conflict region.
Through our direct trainings, mentorship, and distribution of critical resources, WCI helps women and girls become self-sufficient to overcome barriers in their lives by empowering them to create positive, sustainable change in their communities. WCI has worked in more than 45 countries throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, South America and Philadelphia.
We are currently working in Philadelphia and Kenya to conduct girls leadership programs, and Afghanistan where we are hosting economic empowerment workshops. All of WCI’s programs are developed and implemented in partnership with local organizations and are culturally sensitive and relevant to each specific location.
