I wish that I had more hands-on experience with web development. Instead, I had one research project on a specific kind of web page. Additionally, I wish that there was much better communication between the onsite team and the remote interns (me). Instead, I was barely given any assignments and ultimately never heard back from them.
Advice
I would say that communication is clearly an issue. After receiving one project, I slowly heard less and less from them. Even after reaching out numerous times for possible projects or opportunities, I was met with silence. Although the experience was unpaid, I still dedicated and reserved time in my day to commit to the internship. I would not recommend the experience to a friend, unless (perhaps) they were able to work onsite.
