I loved the hands on experience! The learning opportunities were not lacking at this internship. Whenever we asked questions, they would be answered, and we were given a lot of information about what it is like to run the zoo as well, including policies and rules.
What I wish was different
I wish that there would have been more staff available, so that the interns could focus on the animals more than the guests.
Advice
My advice is to be prepared for the work you need to put in. It was a fun experience but it takes up a lot of time, and is hard on your body some days. You work in all weather.
