About Wildlife Rescue Center

The Wildlife Rescue Center (WRC) is a nonprofit organization located in Ballwin, Missouri, a suburb of Saint Louis. WRC was founded in 1979 and has since grown to be the largest wildlife rehabilitation center in the state. Our mission is to rehabilitate injured, sick and orphaned native wildlife and release healthy animals to their natural habitat. Through education outreach, the Center provides environmental awareness, promotes a harmonious relationship with native wildlife, and encourages the community to protect our delicate ecosystems.

Over the past 42 years, WRC has treated more than 80,000 native wild animals, the vast majority of these admitted due to human interactions. WRC education programming increases participants’ awareness, understanding and appreciation of native wildlife and the habitats we all share. By informing the public, we also educate the community on how to both protect and peacefully coexist with nature.
