Very valuable experience with a fantastic team - you gain the opportunity to grow your skills through very meaningful work and a level of responsibility that is difficult to find elsewhere. What made it even better was seeing the direct impact interns had on potential and existing investments. The team places high importance on the professional and personal growth of their interns. I highly recommend the opportunity to any student that has the chance.

Advice
Approach every day as an opportunity to learn as much as possible. You can pick up so much beyond your projects and tasks. Try to soak up as much as possible through Osmosis and everything that you see, hear, and experience day-to-day.

White Hat Capital has been one of the best professional experiences I had as a student at NYU. The people make an actual effort to get you involved in the various deals. I have gotten the best mentorship and guidance working with White Hat. This internship has helped me learn important concepts and gain skills that will be extremely important in the future. I whole heartedly recommend this place for students to get a great professional experience

What I liked
I worked at WHCP several years ago now as one of their interns. Dave, Mark, and James are great people to work with, and were extraordinary at giving me responsibility, providing guidance and help where I needed it, and keeping the job fun. One thing that was very unique about my experience relative to friends' at other places was that I was given a lot of time and latitude to produce analysis on my own, particularly that coveted modelling experience, which I did a lot of. This, along with some helpful mentorship, allowed me to build solid proficiency in many tools used across finance, especially Excel, CapIQ, and SEC Edgar (and BamSEC).
In many ways, White Hat made me the finance professional that I am today.

Advice
One of my biggest regrets while at White Hat was that I never fully originated an idea from start to finish; though I helped on analysis of many ideas and did do preliminary research on a number of names, I wish I could have been more proactive about producing pitches on my own.

A very lean investment fund that allows you great exposure to public technology investing. The investment team is remarkably experienced and bright. I was given a lot of hands-on work regarding sourcing and completing due diligence on investments

Not much - a really good experience overall!

Great people that take the time to invest in you. Gained an invaluable technical skill set that you wouldn’t find at a traditional internship. It is what you make of it.
