I was able to learn so much from my professor and especially my graduate student. I also made a lot of new friends who were the other students in the program and now I will have those connections forever.

Advice
We got to travel to NIST for a field trip. This was an eye-opening experience to see just a few of the job possibilities and different routes our majors could take us. We also made a poster for a poster symposium, which was a great experience. It was almost like a big science conference, so we are really prepared.

What I liked
Everything, I got to participate in a multitude of fields and work with great people. I was mentored by the whole department at the neuroscience institute, there was never a dull moment.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to finish the heart rate variability study I help start over the summer. I also wish that I had a more impactful role that had more say.
Advice
I learned more at my internship than any other facet of my life up to this point. Realize that you have to learn how to communicate, work effectively with others and get your work done to be a benefit to any company anywhere. Internships are great experiences.
