I loved working with Freshman and getting to hear how excited they were for coming to WVU.
What I wish was different
Like most, I wish COVID hadn't turned everything upside down and made the whole process remote.
Advice
Know that it is okay not to know everything, and coworkers/supervisors are there to help you succeed not to compete with you.

Scheduling Assistant
June - August 2020 • Morgantown, WV
What I liked
I was able to help incoming freshmen learn about their upcoming classes and help them create the best schedule possible and give them helpful tips that they will be able to use every time the schedule from now on.
What I wish was different
I would have liked there to be more schedulers working so it did not feel like we didn't have any options to miss work if we needed to.
Advice
Always stay positive when helping your student and try to encourage them in the decisions they make.

Resident Assistant
June - July 2019 • Morgantown, WV
What I liked
I loved being able to connect with high school students and gain new skills to apply back at my college to become an RA.
What I wish was different
I wish it would have been a little shorter. 3 weeks can seem like a lifetime.
Advice
I would suggest listening to coworkers and always trying to respect each other and to understand that not everyone has the same background as you.
