What I liked

I had the opportunity to be the Marketing Intern for Civic Financial Services and over the course of 10 weeks, I worked with many different individuals on the Marketing Team to learn a wide variety of skills. It was such a great experience and the company culture is what set Wedgewood apart from other companies.

What I wish was different

I wish I were assigned more tasks because I would finish tasks and would feel bad to ask for something new.

Advice

Each intern had the opportunity to participate in the Wedgewood Intern Olympics, which is composed of multiple challenges, each relating to different departments within Wedgewood. The internship was very well-rounded and beneficial because of these challenges and I was able to collaborate with other interns as well. Take advantage of this opportunity because you could potentially get hired full time after this, and it is also a good way to get to know some of the executives! In addition, ask a lot of questions, there is no such thing as a dumb question!

Accounting Intern

What I liked

Everyone was extremely friendly and eager to get to know me. There were lots of company events that I could take place in. All of my fellow interns were majoring in various fields of study, and it was fun to learn from them as well.

What I wish was different

There’s not much that I wish was different, but if I had to say one thing I’d say that I wish I didn’t have to drive so often. I live in the heart of LA so getting to Manhattan beach everyday was a lot. In the end I learned to take the freeway!!

Advice

Work hard and absorb everything. You could possibly continue there full time!

What I liked

I worked at Axiom Home Warranty - one of Wedgewood's many divisions. I liked the freedom to explore graphic design and to help build the company's brand. I became highly proficient in InDesign which continues to help me in my current position. I also liked the people who took the time to mentor me.
