About Utah Department of Health

The state of Utah is widely recognized as a healthy place to live, work, do business and raise a family. The Utah Department of Health is committed to ensuring Utahns are the healthiest people in the nation.

Public health affects every Utahn, every day. Along with our partners in the state's 13 local health departments we detect and prevent outbreaks of infectious disease, promote healthy lifestyles and safe behaviors, protect citizens from man-made and natural disasters, and provide access to health care services for Utah's most vulnerable populations

Our vision is for Utah to be a place where all people can enjoy the best health possible, where all can live, grow and prosper in healthy and safe communities.
