Phonathon Caller

August 2018 • Logan, UT

What I liked

The best part about being a caller for the University’s donation call center was the fun and enjoyable surroundings I had at work. I have an incredible boss that is flexible and understanding of the importance of balancing work and school at the same time. The people you call are overall nice people because they are alumni that love the university, and the only one you’re competing with is yourself. You make your own goals and set your own pace and progress.

What I wish was different

I do wish that we had more employees that could join the team and experience the benefits of working at a call center on campus.

Advice

Don’t be afraid to try a new job, even if you think you’ll hate it. This job may not sound like the perfect job because you’re calling people, but anyone that steps into the type of work environment the phonathon is surrounded in would see how this job is an opportunity to learn more about the university, make connections, and also make long lasting friendships with coworkers.
