Civil Engineering Technician Intern

January 2019 • Logan, UT

What I liked

I enjoyed the opportunity to work face to face with cities and counties in a professional matter. Everything we did was organized and scheduled by us so the hours and projects were very flexible. The job is hands-on and that is the kind of work I enjoy. The staff is very friendly and the work environment is very relaxed.

What I wish was different

I wish there would be a larger variety of work. Most of the work is specific and there isn't a large change in the day to day work.

Advice

Take advantage of developing skills in Microsoft Office, ArcMap, TAMS, and the many other programs you have access to that will transfer to the Civil Engineer field. Develop professional communication and presentation skills when planning and talking with cities.
