USDA Risk Management Agency

Project manager

June - August 2017 • Kansas City, MO

What I liked

I was part of the Hispanic Associations of Colleges and Universities National Internship Program (HACU) and my favorite part was the fact that they take their time in choosing what internship is the perfect fit for you. Since I want to get into corporate management, they placed me at RMA working with the chiefs and CIO of the Agency. - Once accepted the program handles everything for you and also pays for all travel, which is to orientation in Washington D.C, and to your internship site. You could be placed in D.C or anywhere else in the country. Interns are working for the federal government so you also get to experience and learn about the federal work flow. - Provide different workshops and many networking opportunities. - Many opportunities to meet elected officials in the White House. - It is a paid internship - Meet other interns from around the country.

What I wish was different

Advice

- APPLY! The application might be extensive but it is worth it! Don't be lazy and just do it! - If accepted, choose wisely where in the country you would like to go. - Explore the city that you are placed in. - Take advantage of all those networking opportunities.
