Customer Relations Intern

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere and size of the company, everyone had a positive attitude and was willing to help. Not only was I able to gain experience in this position, but other departments were willing to show me their areas of work as well. This was particularly beneficial to me because I had hoped to gain to some experience in Finance. I was able to learn QuickBooks a little, and my communication skills on the phone improved tremendously.

What I wish was different

I don't think there's anything I could have asked to be different for this position. It was the perfect introductory internship for anyone looking to gain office experience and learn to manage a medium-sized company.

Advice

Take advantage of the opportunities they offer. Although some of it may seem like busy work, it is beneficial in the long run. Having a positive attitude always helps!

What I wish was different

Should have been paid more and the managing of the company can be a little disorganized in regards to communication. I had some issues with scheduling where I would have to wait at the site in between sessions unpaid.

Advice

Have sessions be back to back.

Camp Counselor

What I liked

I enjoyed being active, and working with young kids. Being able to help kids find there confidence in sports makes it a lot of fun

What I wish was different

Organization and more training time. There was very little formal training, so the first weeks were hard to adjust.

Advice

Be prepared for long days and bring a lot of energy to camp

What I liked

I enjoyed the company’s work environment and mission goals. I also enjoyed the people, I worked with and the other interns.

What I wish was different

I wish my position title was different for what I did not encompass my job description and the other projects I worked on.

Advice

When working in an office environment, always remember to keep your space clean and organized. The summer is a busy and hectic time of the year. Being clean and organized helps you become more efficient and productive in your work.
