What I liked

During the summer of 2019 I worked the Middle School Bowl Games with USA Football as a Team Operations member. I was able to work alongside football coaches from every competitive level (high school, Division I, II and III, and NFL) as well as future Division I players. I love the opportunity to work behind the scenes with athletic events, and this was my first time working with football. The people I worked with in the Operations department did a great job making me feel like I had as much to contribute as anyone.

What I wish was different

I wish that they had given me more notice of what my responsibilities included; I learned most of my responsibilities after began working for them.

Advice

To work in sports you have to be willing to work very long hours, must be able to problem solve and think critically, and go into the work opportunity with an open mind; this internship is no different. For this internship, you may be asked to work up to 15 hours in a single day and asked to do tasks outside of the job description, but the experience is definitely worth it. If you are able to succeed while working for USA Football, you can succeed with anywhere.

Communication Intern

Loved how hands on I was with the communication department. They allowed us to work without anyone holdin our hand. We received feedback once our work was done.
