Loved working with the kids and getting to know the other staff in the school office. Helped me to further understand what career path I wanted to take.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have been more aware of how much work this internship would require from me. It wasn’t a bad thing, I just hadn’t prepared myself or my schedule.
Advice
Definitely a good position for people who are interested in entering into the field of school psychology. Learned a lot about working within schools, mandated reporting, and case management. Also, United Way of San Diego gives you an amazing support system as you navigate the roles of this position.
