A different perspective on financial management. Rare opportunity because there is an offer to come back after graduation with a program that helps you with promotions.

The Air Force culture and working on the base. Plus I worked for the fighter wing and got to see the fighter jets.

Summer Intern

May - August 2019 • Edwards, CA

What I liked

Real world applications of engineering are immediately encountered when working here. There was rarely a moment when I was bored, and I can finally answer all the young kids in math classes: *this* is what you need math for.

What I wish was different

Wish it was a longer internship (it was 12 weeks) and security clearances weren't as big of a hindrance, though I completely understand the precautions.

Advice

Learn something new on your own before applying here. If you're the type that wants easier or more well-defined problems to solve, this is not the place to work. However, if you're like me and like the challenge of finding solutions to problems we don't have any for...then this is perfect.

Financial Mangement Intern

May - July 2019 • Mountain Home Afb, ID

What I liked

The benefits that is given and the opportunity to grow after the internship and stay with the Air Force working as a civilian. There was a job offer for post-graduation which included a 3-year commitment but they help pay off student loans, pay for graduate school and other things.

What I wish was different

I wish it was more fast-paced and hands-on. I just mostly did the onboarding stuff and then sometimes shadowed the other people.
