Uline

eCommerce Data Analyst Intern

May - August 2023 • Pleasant Prairie, WI

What I liked

I got to work on many different projects that utilized a variety of skills, learned from many people in a supportive environment, and developed both my hard and soft skills as well as my professionalism. My mentor, manager, team, and everyone I met in the company were encouraging, ready to help, and challenged you to do your best and continue learning and improving. Uline's internship program is very well developed, and I can confidently say that everyone who interned made connections and built lasting relationships. We got to work with interns from departments across the company and were able to connect outside of work too through a variety of intern events that Uline put on for us.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change anything; the whole experience was amazing!

Advice

Challenge yourself! Take every opportunity you can to learn and try new things, and if there's something you want to do, don't be afraid to ask. Everyone is supportive, ready to help, and truly wants you to succeed.

Accounts Receivable Assistant

May - August 2022 • Pleasant Prairie, WI

What I liked

Did all the same work as an entry-level employee. This was a huge benefit as you get to see how the company functions as a whole.

What I wish was different

More intern events for networking. In my position, I was only had the chance to connect with people in my immediate department.

Advice

Push yourself to learn about other parts of the company even though you really only have exposure to the department you are working in.

What I liked

Real-work experience, client facing, had own portfolio of customers to hand. Were treated as if you were a real employee. Real entry-level work experience.

What I wish was different

More interaction between interns and between different departments. Not a lot of variation from day-to-day.

Advice

Great Corporate experience. Make sure you network with employees across different departments and get to know as many people as possible.

Product Management Intern

May - August 2022 • Pleasant Prairie, WI

What I liked

I enjoyed coming to work every day and being surrounded by welcoming and driven people. I was able to contribute to my team and do meaningful work that made a difference. I loved learning about the business and having a lot of responsibility to complete large projects. Uline interns get a lot of great exposure to upper-level management and work closely with many different departments to get a well-rounded view of the company. I also liked that I was able to live with other Uline interns and Uline put on events after work for interns. I built many great friendships with the other interns living in the housing. It was one of the biggest things I enjoyed outside of the internship.

What I wish was different

I really enjoyed everything. I personally wish I could have spent more time in Milwaukee, WI to see what it would be like to live there after college!

Advice

It's okay to not know everything. You will be pushed to work independently and solve problems you may have never experienced, but this is one of the biggest ways to learn and grow. Be ready and willing to take on challenges and be confident in your decision-making. Have an open mind and work hard!

Human Resource Intern

May - August 2022 • Pleasant Prairie, WI

What I liked

This opportunity did not only develop my overall knowledge of the Human Resource department and its functions, but it also helped me grow tremendously as a person. I have built amazing relationships with employees at Corporate as well as at the Illinois Branch. The people who work at Uline are nothing but great and want their interns to succeed in every way possible. I completed various projects in all HR fields and even had the opportunity to work as a Recruiter, where I hired a candidate for a full-time position! Overall, one of the best experiences I could've asked for and I am excited to continue my career at Uline!

What I wish was different

Absolutely nothing!

Advice

If you are going into an internship at Uline just know you are looked at as a full-time employee! You are expected to perform to the best of your abilities and work just as hard as the person next to you. Go into it open minded, everyone is there to help you find your niche!

I was pushed outside of my comfort zone and built confidence as a professional and salesperson. We received real life experience by actually interacting with customers on a daily basis.

Print Design Intern

May - August 2019 • Pleasant Prairie, WI

What I liked

I loved that this internship was very hands on. I was not fetching coffee, I was actually doing real work alongside full-time employees. And the company is really great about making sure you get the most out of the internship. Each week, they held "Lunch and Learns" so we could learn about other departments, as well as social and networking events to meet the other interns and just enjoy your time there.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change a thing!

Advice

Uline is a business-professional company, so be sure to dress your best for your interview! And just make the most out of your three months with them. It goes by so quickly!

Coworkers, atmosphere, culture, large company corporate setting, managers are good mentors, networking opportunities with other branches in the company. You were given freedom to work a lot on your own which I was able to use and improve my IT skills. You were essentially another worker in IT.

Sales Account Representative

May - August 2018 • Cranberry Township, PA

What I liked

What I wish was different

Advice

I recommend finding an employer similar to mine and my experiences. Due to their interactive, hands-on internship, I was able to perform over 200+ sales calls, including cold calls, ride alongs with my bosses, and account calls. This allowed me to gain experience and knowledge that I never would've learned in just the classroom.
