This is a one on one experience with a registered nurse. I was able to enhance my skills and nursing practice while serving our nation's veterans.
What I wish was different
There is not anything I would change about this experience. The VALOR student nurse program has been a part of the Salem VA Medical Center for 10 years.
Advice
The number of students accepted into the program is limited so apply early. Administration and staff are very supportive of new graduates and are always looking for ways to support them and to enhance their learning. This is a very welcoming facility. Serving the Veterans is a humbling and rewarding experience.

Writing intern
April - August 2019 • Miami, FL
What I liked
I was able to learn how to fact check a source by detirming it's credibility through research and by looking for evidence that detirmines a sources claim
What I wish was different
I was offered the opportunity to start my internship in the spring of 2019 but opted to start in the summer when their were few fact checking and editing interns. I chose to start my internship in the summer because I wanted to focus on my classes for the spring semester. .
Advice
Looking back I probably could have managed my internship and classes during that semester
Always take risks. Do not let your worries control your decisions.
