U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs

Pathways & Tribal Resilience Program Intern

June 2019 • Omaha, NE

What I liked

Learning about ongoing climate change adaptation plans throughout Indian Country, and the job positions possible after I graduate.

What I wish was different

Because this is a teleworking internship, communicating with my supervisors and managers can be somewhat difficult. Also, working for the government comes with a lot of paperwork and obstacles to jump through.

Advice

For any Native American students interested in BIA internships, I highly recommend following through with all the paperwork and getting a head start on things. This has been a very rewarding experience.
