What I liked

Working in the heart of Chicago, it was amazing working with government officials in order to conduct business inside the law firm. Walking across the streets into government buildings to retrieve case files was very interesting.

What I wish was different

There was no strict intern development program. However, this allowed me to emerge into different roles throughout my summer and help different areas of the law firm.

Advice

Be proactive. Because there is not necessarily someone telling you what to do, find ways to add value. Ask attorneys, clerks, and the office managers what needs to get done today, and in the future. Also, do the little things right every single day and you will tally long term wins.
