Rehabilitation Aide

May - December 2018 • Wheat Ridge, CO

What I liked

I enjoyed the opportunity to work with undeserved populations in the Front Range of Colorado. Through my job i was able to work with patients that were in their most vulnerable state after surgery. During each interactions i would get the opportunity to connect with each individual and her the story they had to share. With my position as a rehabilitation aide I could empower each patient to work to their fullest in order to recover from their surgery faster.

What I wish was different

I did have some free time that i felt like i didnt utilize as efficiently as i could have.

When you go in to a position in the medical field, be prepared to see people at their weakest point. The objective is to initially connect with the patients and let them receive empathy. Go into each room with a open mind and don't let what is on their chart change how you would interact with them.
