What I liked

I had the amazing opportunity to understand the HIV/AIDS virus and help others learn more about it. I got to understand a variety of people from all over Orlando by testing, educating and counseling them. It can be incredibly difficult to help someone who hates condons be more safe, but the amazing volunteers and class helped me better prepare them for safe sex.

What I wish was different

Advice

Being a volunteer is one of the most powerful things in this world. I enjoy volunteering far more than I enjoy actually working. I get to meet amazing people, educate them and inspire them to take on tasks of their own. Outside testing, I get the chance to listen to the stories of other LGBT individuals and help people who are struggling with their identity. I definitely recommend volunteering if you have the chance. You get to understand your community in a whole new way!
