What I liked

This internship was awesome because it incorporated a rotational aspect where each of the interns were provided with one-on-one time within every single department. I was exposed to every different department that made up The Buckner Company and got to see what I did and didn't like. They also provided my with projects that not only played to my strengths but also helped the company achieve real goals.

What I wish was different

This year was the first year of the full internship program. The company has had interns in the past but never a full-blown, scheduled program so there were obvious kinks and things that I wish were different such as more awareness and projects in specific departments.

Advice

Go into the internship with an open mind and willingness to learn. You are given direction but the more initiative you take the better. Tell them what you're good at and make sure to ask questions! Great internship overall.

What I liked

The energy and people there are extremely nice and helpful. You can reach out to ANYONE in the company and people are more than welcome to reach out and help you.

What I wish was different

There was a lot of stuff to do during the end of the internship. It was a little overwhelming. If it was spread out more evenly that would’ve been better for everyone!

Advice

At first the internship seems intimidating with a lot to do. They reorganized the way they do the internship program and it was a lot better than previous years. I would say to go in with an open mind. It’s insurance, which gets a bad rap but it was a great experience and I loved the other interns.
