I managed to make some really good friends. We all had the same thought process and enjoyed similar things. I was also introduced to different concepts of computer science that I wasn’t aware of.
What I wish was different
I wish I had a better interaction with my mentor. My particular project relied heavily on a previous project. But there wasn’t much communication between my group and the mentor and researcher of the previous project.
Advice
Apply to anything, even if you think you don’t have enough experience. Of course there will be some who turn you down. But there are plenty who want students that don’t know much, so they can learn.
