Research Intern

June - August 2018 • College Station, TX

What I liked

This opportunity provided a wide variety of experiences both related to career and personal development. Not only did I perform my own research, but I also participated in outside scientific research trips . This allowed me to grow with fellow participants and improve my teamwork skills. The environment I worked in for my research was also very ideal because my mentors created a comfortable space to work in.

What I wish was different

Overall this research internship went very well. The only difference I would have wanted was more time to connect and gain experiences.

Advice

A lot of my research required independent work on a topic I was not particularly familiar with. My advice would be to take the initiative to learn more about the research you're performing outside of what is provided to you as well as not being afraid to ask a lot of questions.
