What I liked

Terracon allowed me to gain experience in many different departments. The work I did was flexible and they allowed me to pursue things that interested me.

What I wish was different

I wish it had been slightly more structured. Sometimes I wasn't sure when I was supposed to be there, who to report to, etc. The expectations of me as an intern were sometimes unclear.

Advice

Be sure to branch out and try things, it may help give you some direction. Everyone is very nice, welcoming, and helpful, but make sure to put yourself out there.

Geotechnical Engineering Intern

May - August 2018 • Milwaukee, WI

What I liked

Working for a national company that appreciates their employees, especially their health and safety. I also really enjoyed the vast experience I was provided in different departments of the company.

What I wish was different

I wish my work schedule would have been more predictable and not during the hours of the day that they were (very early mornings). But that's just how a consultant firm works.

Advice

Stay optimistic about the workload and hours as the work experience is some of the best you can get in this field.
