It was very hands-on. I got to do the work that a beginner employee would be doing. I never made copies or got anyone coffee. I also got to work with almost everyone in the department, so I got a good variety in what I was doing and how I was learning.
What I wish was different
It would have been nice if this internship was paid because it took a lot of time out of my summer. Or, if it couldn't be paid, to have reduced the number of hours worked a week.
Advice
Take advantage of opportunities like this to work in a real environment and get real experience. When you are at your internship always act professionally and say yes to any opportunity to learn more. Employers value interns that go the extra step and take the initiative to keep learning.
