I loved being outdoors and collecting data in the field
What I wish was different
not a thing, it was a good experience and important for my major
Advice
It is a lot easier to wake up early and drive into the woods if you truly enjoy being in the woods every day. Stay hydrated in the FL heat.

What I liked
I was treated as member of the staff and not as an expendable member. The staff there is very open, kind, and very willing to teach. Almost all of what I learned/experienced while there has benefited me in one way or another. The prescribed fire experience, tree identification, and work on surveys were very helpful.
What I wish was different
I only wish that I had had a little more time with the ArcGIS programs in and off the field.
Advice
Be ready for the field DAY ONE. Bring more water than you think you'll need (or Gatorade) and wear a wide-brimmed hat. Don't worry about appearances--just be prepared.

What I liked
I liked the fieldwork experience. Even if the fieldwork at times was tough due to the high temperatures, it was a much-needed experience for my field.
