Snips Media

Influencer Marketing Intern

June - August 2020 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I was able to gain a variety of new experiences at Snips. What impacted me the most was the flexibility of the projects. This allowed me to execute different tactics in order to see what would make the greatest ending results. I was able to work in areas that I had very little knowledge about, but left feeling more confident in my abilities to perform in that arena. Additionally, I was able to perform in areas that I had been interested in, such as social media. I had a great experience at Snips and recommend it to anyone who is interested.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been more opportunities to get to know my fellow interns better.

Advice

Be open to trying new things! David was great at providing the interns with a wide array of different opportunities, which allowed me to get out of my comfort zone.

What I liked

I liked that I got to work on a lot of different projects that required me to apply different skills. I learned a lot and gained experience in email marketing, coding, and project management, which was all new to me. I really appreciated working with the other interns and that David, the CEO, was always so open to new ideas and willing to give feedback or suggestions.

What I wish was different

That all the interns were able to meet and work in person, but given the circumstances, that was not possible. I wish we had done more team building or "get to know you" activities (virtually) in the beginning of our time together.

Advice

Be open to new experiences and learning new skills. It's important to be open-minded and take on projects that may have a learning curve - these were the most impactful and valuable experiences for me as an intern!

Marketing Intern

June - August 2020 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I was able to participate in a variety of different projects from the more business administrative side to content creation. David encouraged everybody to volunteer for any assignment that he/she deemed interesting and was very patient with all of our individual learning curves. It was an overall informative and supportive work environment that is perfect for anybody interested in entering the field of marketing and brand management.

What I wish was different

I wish we could've all met together physically and had more time to experiment with different tactics on how to best reach out to different creators.

Advice

Be willing to try new things, and don't be intimidated by what you don't know. Really take this opportunity to work on your weaknesses and learn how to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Influencer Marketing Intern

June - August 2019 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

Snips was so great to work at because of the amount of exposure it gave me to all sectors of marketing. In addition to influencer marketing get to explore content creation, social media marketing, marketing analytics, email marketing, and so much more. During the summer I worked with 4 other amazing marketing interns, and we learned so much from each other, and from David, the CEO.

What I wish was different

I wish I was more vocal about how I wanted to join more projects. Snips is more than happy to let you join whichever marketing project you wish that is currently being worked on. The office is also super cool, so hopefully, more interns will be able to work in person after the pandemic has died down.

Advice

Be honest, be flexible and be open to new challenges and sharing your ideas!
