I got hands on experience within my preferred field. I learned a lot of things that school couldn't teach me. I made connections and am confident that I will get a full-time offer once I near the end of my degree.
What I wish was different
My only comment is that the regional office where I applied to was in Virginia Beach but the location of the job site that I worked on was in Newport News, Virginia and I had a long commute through the construction of the HRBT.
Advice
The entire internship is basically one long job interview. If you work your hardest and show them your commitment and abilities, they are more willing offer you a full-time position based off of your work ethic and how you performed.

Project Enginner Intern
May - August 2021 • Pittsburgh, PA
What I liked
I loved the amount of responsibility that I was given. There was a solid foundation and learning experience in place for the interns so it was not too overwhelming at first. I gained a lot of hands-on experience and learned how to apply the concepts I studied in class.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have asked more questions! That is the best way to learn.
Advice
Ask as many questions as possible and get involved in any extra activities or tasks.
