What I liked
Before proceeding any further, I would like to preface and say that: most of the reviews on this platform are an accurate reflection of the type of unique experience you will have during internship. Regardless if you are well-versed in terms like stocks, bonds, ETFs, cryptocurrency, mutual funds, etc., by being able to work directly under the CEO and president of Quantumvest, they will teach you the key fundamental aspects of the wealth management as well as techniques such as technical analysis to assess risk management or how to analyze which vehicles to invest in.
With that said, prior to interning for Quantumvest, I came in with minimal knowledge about wealth/asset management and very little experience, but during my time here, I have gained an invaluable amount of knowledge and experience on how to approach different investment vehicles. From the very beginning, the interns are exposed on how to run a portfolio through Wallstreetsurvivor, but as the internship progresses, one will learn different aspects of technical analysis (trendlines, support and resistance) that can then be applied towards this simulation and what vehicles one can choose to invest in. Likewise, in my case, I–as well as the other interns–were able to work on a pitch deck that could be presented to a potential high-net worth client–given the knowledge we gained from learning about technical analysis as well as key fundamental indicators (ex: P/E ratio, current ratio).
Having said this, up above represents the technical side of the internship, but the other half of this internship involves potential client outreach. Similar to the technical side of this internship, we were also taught on how to communicate with potential clients through the usage of tonality–meaning, how to change tones in different speech patterns. In conjunction to this, myself as well as the other interns were able to listen in on client meetings that gave valuable insight into this industry.
All in all, this was a very “hands-on” experience working under the CEO and president–which has not only taught me the skillset in how to analyze trends, but more importantly, how the markets move.
