What I liked

Everything, you're doing something different every day, using all sorts of equipment and learning valuable information

What I wish was different

Nothing

Advice

Don't sign up for a job you don't want to do. If you do not like physically demanding work, waking up early, 40 hour work weeks, or working outside, this is not the job for you.

Corporate Trainee Intern

May - August 2019 • Sussex, WI

What I liked

As a trainee, I was positioned in the photo department. Within this department, I was able to wear many hats and gain an understanding of the many different aspects that goes into a photoshoot. In addition, I had multiple opportunities to shadow different departments such as marketing, design innovation, creative, video, and packaging design. All of the employees were very welcoming and eager to help/educate the interns.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have had more hands-on experience in the photo department, but that was limited to the number of shoots they had scheduled during my time there.

Advice

Networking is key! The number of times I was told it's not what you know it's who you know was overwhelming.

Corporate Trainer Intern

May - August 2019 • Sussex, WI

What I liked

It was a really great experience. Everyone is willing to teach you and point you in the right direction as long as you ask for it. I had the opportunity to work on real projects and have a voice in the day to day tasks.

What I wish was different

Honestly, I wish I could've stayed longer.

Advice

Go in willing to learn and you will get a lot out of working here.

Corporate Trainee Intern - Multimedia Specialist

May - August 2019 • Sussex, WI

What I liked

Quad specifically tailored my internship to my specific interests and expertise. While other interns were working in Accounting and IT Departments, I was working with the corporate communications team to produce multimedia content for internal distribution. I met so many create colleagues, many of which I still keep in contact with. Quad treated me like a fellow employee, and not just a coworker, which made my experience so much different then other positions I've held in the past.

What I wish was different

Nothing at all. Quad provided me a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Advice

If you make a good impression at an internship, it could lead into a post-graduate career. At the end of my rotation, I was offered a full-time position with Quad.
