Software Engineering Intern

What I liked

- Very flexible projects, they left most of the decisions and how to approach the problem up to me. - Great mentoring, everyone was always willing to give advice and help where they could - Meaningful/Real projects. I was able to see the results of my work and had regular real work experiences - Enjoyable intern networking/social events.

What I wish was different

- Would have been a better experience if more work had been put into preparing for the arrival of the interns. For example getting computers setup and send to the office before or by the time I had started.

Advice

Talk to / look into multiple different companies at career fairs / online. You never know which company will be the perfect fit for you until you talk to some. Also once you do land a summer internship make sure to not be afraid to take on a challenge and talk to you mentors. I can say that I have learned more from my summer internships then I have most of my classes so far. Not to mention getting your foot in the door with a summer internship is a great way to network and even setup a possible full time offer for after graduation.
