As a civil engineering major the job provided good insight on the process a construction project goes through, as well as good field experience on construction sites.
What I wish was different
As a survey intern, the bulk of the work I did was construction layout and total station set up. Even though each project was a little different, my tasks felt repetitive by the end of the summer. I also wished with more experience my responsibilities would expand more than they did.
Advice
Going into the job, in order to really excel it is important to have prior knowledge in surveying.
