I got to apply what I've done at school through doing research and the work that I was doing was applicable to customers outside of the science community. It also played to my strong suits because I've done research on campus in the chemistry department.
What I wish was different
The person I worked most closely with was all the way in Connecticut. I wish I had gotten to work one-on-one with him, in the same state. Sometimes it was hard working completely on my own.
Advice
Any work experience is good experience, no matter how hard it may be.
