Advice

I would definitely do it again. I recommend any one looking at industry or public services to apply to PG&E. It’s a summer position, but they recommend what job you should apply for if you want to continue working.

What I liked

I was given a lot of freedom to approach projects how I felt was best, without micromanaging. Also lots of opportunities exist to involve yourself in other projects beyond the scope of your original job description.

What I wish was different

Some people had a bit of a sour mood because of recent company events, but that's understandable.

Talk with the different people you see during your time here, many of them are involved in very interesting work and are willing to share knowledge and smaller projects that you can help with.

What I liked

I loved my time at DCPP. I worked for the Primary Systems Engineering Department and really enjoyed getting out in the field and seeing all the systems.

What I wish was different

I wish my time there was longer.

Advice

Meet as many people as you can, and just remember that if you are ever feeling timid or shy, you got hired there for a reason. They thought you would be a good fit for their workplace, and keep that in mind when you go to your job. Make the most of your day and learn as much as you can from others.
