What I liked

Was able to work face to face with customers and listen to their needs for their next car. Experienced every part of the car buying procedure from shaking the customer's hand, showing them inventory, going along for a test drive, working out financing options, to taking their photo in front of their new car. It was an excellent experience that thought me how to handle obstacles and be prepared to assist the customer in any way possible.

What I wish was different

A longer program, right when I started feeling comfortable being able to sell vehicles completely by myself the summer unfortunately ended.

Advice

In the first two or three weeks focus on shadowing a salesperson, listening and absorbing all the information they are telling the customer and how they handle being asked questions.

Getting real world experience, forcing myself to connect with people, finding similarities in seemingly very different people, closing sales

What I wish was different

If was a fairly immoral business and it made me uncomfortable plenty of times

Advice

If you feel bad even slightly taking advantage of people, don’t do it.

I was placed in a real work environment where I was treated like a full time employee and given autonomy to perform on my own.

What I wish was different

Quicker onboarding and training.

Advice

You'll never know how much you are capable of if you don't push yourself, and Oxmoor pushes you to work your hardest and do your best every single day with a group who will teach you and challenge you to grow.
