Rotational Intern

What I liked

As a rotational intern, I was able to be a part of almost every department at the corporation. From national accounts, marketing, human resources and more. With that experience, I was able to see how each department depends on one another to grow as a team, as well as seeing the inner-workings of the specific department.

What I wish was different

Honestly, nothing. Working at OrePac Building Products has taught me more than I thought I would learn initially going into this position. They treat their employees with respect and acknowledge/celebrate all of their achievements and goals. I highly, highly recommend anyone taking OrePac into account when it comes to jobs after graduation or internship opportunities.

Just go for it!

What I liked

I really enjoyed all the exposure I gained in a short amount of time. Everyone was very friendly and engaged in my learning. I had opportunities to "fail" in a sense and then had the time to "fix" my mistakes and learn from them without penalty. Everyone was willing to teach me things outside of my set agenda.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have gotten more experience on the corporate level of OrePac's business and have more opportunities to apply what I was learning in school to the real world.

Advice

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and ask questions if you are unsure. You will only learn as much as you put into the internship. Learn from your mistakes and strive to do more than asked of you.
