Optimal Blue

Software Quality Assurance Intern

May - August 2019 • Plano, TX

What I liked

Tight-knit community. Helpful and engaging teams and supervisor. Ability to fully immerse myself in the work life and actually be able to implement important changes as an intern in the software packages and cloud migration. Weekly team lunches and massages.

What I wish was different

The QA teams can be more software oriented instead of a lot of manual testing. Accountability of work done by interns can be improved as they will make sure that all interns are putting in equal amounts of effort.

Advice

Asking a lot of questions early on can tremendously help the overall experience. The teams and supervisor are very willing to allow interns to work on different operations like software engineering regardless of being a QA intern. Therefore, take advantage of this and try and gather as much experience as you can,
