I worked, and currently work, on the Empire State Plaza on the 32nd floor of Corning Tower. It was an amazing view of Albany, Bethlehem, Guilderland, Colonie, Troy, Rensselaer, and all the surrounding areas. I work with a really great team. I have learned so much about general financial jobs, further advanced my Excel knowledge, and made some really great connections. And we have food trucks every lunch... So that's pretty self explanatory.
What I wish was different
I was in the Bureau of Risk and Insurance Management. We place and manage insurance for state agencies and entities, SUNY Albany included. I learned that I am not interested in insurance. It is critically important to have insurance, but it is not something that excites me.
Advice
It is so important to have internships throughout your undergrad experience. It allows you to find career pathways you DO and DO NOT like. You grow your network, get paid, and help narrow down your focus in the job market.
