I learned how to network and it gave me some sales experience. I also learned a lot about the insurance industry, financial planning, and I basically got to "run my own business."
What I wish was different
I'm not someone that enjoys selling things, so that part of the internship was not fun for me. I also did not like that I had to find all of my own leads.
Advice
I think there is some valuable experience to be gained from this internship, but it is hard-work and you have to be able to handle rejection well.

What I liked
I learned a lot about the industry.
What I wish was different
I wish that I was not pushed so much to call family and friends in hopes they would buy insurance. I never got paid, even when I was told I would. I even had to spend money out of my pocket to buy study material they required. It was a very poor experience.
