Northern Frontier Camp

About Northern Frontier Camp

Northern Frontier is a Christian wilderness camp for boys and young men in New York's Adirondack Mountains, operating since 1946. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and recognized by the Christian Camps and Conference Association. Its mission is to develop boys and young men into leaders for Christ through outdoor, experience-based programming grounded in Christian discipleship.

Unlike many camps built around a single season, Northern Frontier is structured for continuity. Campers typically return across several summers through our age-based program tracks, and many staff members began as campers themselves, which allows mentoring relationships to develop over years rather than weeks.

The camp is situated on a private lake in a remote area of the Adirondacks, without cellular service or typical resort amenities. Programming takes place primarily outdoors, including canoeing, rock climbing, backcountry trips, and evening campfires.

Each summer, Northern Frontier employs approximately 20 collegian counselors with full cabin leadership responsibility, 15 junior counselors, and 15 support and administrative staff across roles including kitchen operations and photography/videography. The camp also offers internships in youth ministry, outdoor education, and photo/video production.

“My favorite part of about working at Northern Frontier is the sipiritual foundation included in the ministry at the camp. Being able to serve the Lord and help others build their faith, while also building my own faith is a dream job for me. ”
