North American Stainless

About North American Stainless

Founded in 1990, North American Stainless (NAS) has undertaken several phases of expansion to become the largest, fully integrated stainless steel producer in the U.S. Although we have achieved much in a short period of time, we remain focused on being the leading provider of high-quality stainless steel in the Western Hemisphere.

Our location in Carroll County, Kentucky, enabled us to build a state-of-the-art production facility on 1400 acres near a major interstate highway and with direct access to the Ohio River. As a “greenfield” project, we had the opportunity to plan the plant layout for maximum efficiency and offer the full range of stainless flat and long products with competitive delivery times. With all of NAS’s production lines on site, we avoid the inherent delays that are common in mills with geographically dispersed production sites.

A member of the Acerinox Group, recognized as one of the world’s largest stainless steel producer, NAS benefits from global resources and a presence in the major international markets to service customers outside the U.S. Our most valuable asset, however, is our people. NAS employees have been trained at our headquarters as well as overseas.

We believe that our employees truly deserve the best benefits that we can offer. We want your health – both inside and out – to be a top priority. At NAS, we offer a wide variety of benefits from insurance to tuition reimbursement and retirement planning to support you and your family.

Caster Project Engineer - Mechanical Maintenance

June 2023 Ghent, KY
“Project engineers at NAS stay busy defining and managing projects, communicating with contractors and suppliers, and getting quotes. You have some independence; getting to own your projects, and can be as hands-on or -off as you want. What is great about NAS is the number of employees who have been here for years, decades even. These employees are more than willing to share their knowledge with you, and usually are glad to help out if needed.”
